Ben Card

NEW REQUIREMENT - You MUST bring your driver’s license and show it to the University Police for verification when picking up your BenCard.

Introducing the BenCard - Benedictine University’s new faculty, staff and student identification card. Every Benedictine student, faculty and staff member will be issued a new BenCard, your official University photo identification card – plus a whole lot more!

The BenCard is required as identification when using University facilities, as well as participating in University-sponsored events. And for students, your BenCard is your key to campus living.

Use your new BenCard in the following ways:

  • As a library card to access electronic resources and check out materials at the Benedictine Library
  • To eat in the Krasa Center Dining Room, the Coal Ben and the Kindlon Coffee Shop
  • To gain admittance to your residence hall (resident students only)
  • To perform banking functions at any Plus ATM or Interlink POS merchant nationwide when you activate your BenCard to become your U.S. Bank ATM card.
  • At the Bookstore as a PIN-debit card if your BenCard is linked to your U.S. Bank checking account.
  • To gain admittance to the Moser Center (Moser Center faculty and staff only)

In addition to a new look and name, the new BenCard is more user-friendly, multi-functional and secure. One of the features of the new BenCard is that it can also be your U.S. Bank ATM card. For faculty, staff and students who choose to bank with U.S. Bank, the card will provide you with a wide array of additional services.

All students, staff and faculty will be issued a new BenCard regardless of their banking choice.

Lisle campus faculty and staff and all students may pick up their new BenCard at University Police in the Krasa Center, lower level, Monday-Saturday 8:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. according to the distribution schedule beginning Monday, August 3.

Moser Center faculty and staff (including student workers and faculty mentors) may pick up their new BenCard at Michi Dubes’ office in the Moser Center, Room 121, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. according to the distribution schedule beginning Monday, August 3.

All students, faculty and staff must have your PeopleSoft ID number with you when picking up your new BenCard to verify you are receiving the correct card.

Students should contact Enrollment Services at (630) 829-6500 if you need your ID number.

Personnel Resources will e-mail faculty and staff your ID number. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact
Theresa Oldham or Breanna Pence in Personnel Resources.

Existing Benedictine community members must bring their old ID card to exchange it for a new BenCard.

New photos will NOT be taken unless you are a new Benedictine community member or University Police deem it necessary for existing community members.

The BenCard is yours to use, but it remains the property of Benedictine University. The card may be used for such purposes as the University designates and may be revoked at any time. It is not transferable under any condition and should not be used by any other individual at any time. This card must be carried at all times while on University property. The card must be presented and/or surrendered upon demand by University officials; failure to do so, lending of this card to anyone, or other misuse, is a violation of this policy and may result in suspension of the card. The card is void upon termination of enrollment and/or employment.

If your BenCard is lost, there is a University Police reprinting fee/replacement cost of $50 for resident student cards and $10 for all other cards.
